Interning at One-Forty in my freshman year was a transformative journey. Tasked with managing One-Forty’s Filipino fanpage and assisting in their classes, I initially battled shyness and lacked confidence. Because I lacked experience in professional and social settings, I was afraid of doing badly. However, the supportive environment helped me in overcoming these hurdles, fostering personal growth and unleashing my creativity. Contributing to an organization bridging Taiwanese and migrant workers was not just meaningful, but the exceptional treatment of employees made it even more special. By the end of this experience, I formed deep relationships with my bosses and fellow interns, and gained profound insights into the vital role NPOs play in society.
